- Charles Miller just noticed my report that UserTalk has a hash type. I've since heard from Dave that it's no accident that tables are faster: Definitely stick with tables. They're the core data type in the object database and highly optimized.

- Near-death visions baffle doctors Baffle doesn't seem quite fair to the doctors. These doctors seem to be engaging the issue with appropriate curiosity: The group of Dutch doctors attempted a scientific approach to establish what, if anything, people who were technically dead were experiencing in the minutes while their brain was inactive and they were undergoing resuscitation, the medical journal Lancet reported. Sounds perfectly reasonable. And I'm of the mind that there often are interesting and measurable physiological phenomena associated with spiritual experiences.
