- [via Scripting News] Paolo Valdemarin is taking the first steps to building an independent developer community for UserLand's Radio product. The basic idea (if I understand correctly) is that Radio developers would use Paolo's service as a central point for distribution and compensation - as in money. This is a great idea for a couple of reasons: Developers are busy enough and don't need the hassle of setting up an online content distribution scheme Centralized distribution makes it easy to find the content Users get automatic updates ala Radio I'm probably never going to release a full-blown tool for Radio, but I do have a couple of little verbs I use to generate stuff like Amazon links, relative links to things like CSS files, and some glossary helpers. I sure would like a way to bundle my little contributions into a Utility tool that could be updated by a community. |
