Holidays, I hate you (Dec 16 2002 18:44 GMT) - Work work work. That is all I ever do now. In fact, I am going into work today despite working last Saturday. Today is Monday. Thus, I had a one day weekend. |

rollout (Dec 16 2002 18:13 GMT) - Some good things are happening at the close of 2002 auguring a better 2003, especially from the tech community. Last week I went to an open house at the Electronic Frontier Foundation's San Francisco headquarters, where people were in an upbeat mood despite everything. What I love about these gatherings is the energy in the room. There's nothing quite like the buzz that radiates from a klatch of technologists. Maybe it's just residual EMF radiation from all that time in front of computers, who knows? |

column (Dec 16 2002 18:13 GMT) - Reasons to believe for 2003? More in my column in today's Seattle Times. |

Cecile (Dec 16 2002 18:13 GMT) - Cecile and I will be heading to Seattle later this week for the holidays. The big excitement for us: The return of NewsNite. We'll be having a reunion of sorts from our summertime gatherings that went so well. Lots to talk about and get caught up on (an understatement). |

bloggers conference (Dec 16 2002 18:13 GMT) - Dave Winer, mentioned in today's column, is fronting the notion of a bloggers conference that's stirred up quite a bit of discussion. I like the idea of starting at midnight, since that's when I've always done my best blogging. But the cheap part might require some creative expensing -- especially if everyone has to have a room. How many cheap hotels offer 802.11b? |

blog (Dec 16 2002 18:13 GMT) - And BTW more on the Creative Commons effort in Dave's blog today. |
