- Visual C++ has an interesting proprietary keyword: __assume. It's a hint (or rather, a promise) to the compiler. The docs introduce it as a performance boost cousin of ASSERT. If you're REALLY sure that a condition is always true, then you can tell the compiler to not even worry about it. |
