No oil contracts, no peace-keepers, no influence as far as we can help it. Charles Krauthammer makes the same point today. After what the French have tried to do to destroy American diplomacy, wreck Tony Blair, and delay a war until it might actually be more dangerous for American troops, they deserve more than indifference. |

Movie: The Insider (1999) (Feb 28 2003 20:21 GMT) - The Insider (1999) is a good movie for some unusual reasons. I don't know why I haven't seen it before. Well, probably because the movie is about the tobacco industry and because anything remotely related to tobacco makes me damn near throw up. That feeling even kept me away from a movie spends most of its playing time pummeling the tobacco industry (and the commercial news industry). Overall it's a good movie, Russell Crowe is OK (I usually don't like him, but here he's OK) and Al Pacino is very good. |
