What can you read into it? (Mar 11 2003 20:47 GMT) - Rippin' thru books like they're going out of style! Been getting into some of Ian Fleming's James Bond classics. In three day's I've read "Goldfinger", "Casino Royale" and I've just started "Live and let die". I won't bore you with my usual talk of the books being better than the films, but the Bond films are stuff of class and distinction. The books are of class, style and distinction and allow you to travel more into the emotional realms of the main character without all of the un-necessary Yankee bred exposions and lightening bolts shiznit. |

Kapor Quits Board When Push Comes to Groove (Mar 11 2003 20:01 GMT) - According to today's New York Times, software pioneer Mitch Kapor has resigned from the board of Groove Networks after discovering the firm is helping the government develop its controversial Total Information Awareness program. The brainchild of Admiral John Poindexter, former national security adviser under Reagan, the proposed TIA program would monitor network computer activities under the ever-widening blanket of homeland security. As one of the founders of the Electronic Freedom Foundation, an online rights watchdog, Kapor showed once again why he's so widely respected. Unlike directors of other recently infamous firms, who shrugged off the stewardship aspect of board seats, he understood that remaining on the Groove board would constitute endorsement of TIA. So he quit. |
