Cavatelli and Meat in Gravy (Apr 08 2003 23:59 GMT) - Chris abstained from his weekly half price burger for tonight's meal. It was more than worth it. The preparation was relatively easy since the cavatelli and tomato sauce are both leftover from last night. We add some thin steak to the sauce to make it a little different. We also add some stuffed artichokes to appease , who was come to love them. |

Blog editing options (Apr 08 2003 23:59 GMT) - After my post on editing blogs from within SharpReader by navigating to one's blog home page, I figured it might be worth trying other methods. So I'm composing this blog entry in FrontPage, and hoping that when I copy the resulting HTML into my blog, it won't hose up Scott's RSS feed (no beating me if it does, Scott, OK?). The one nice thing about using FrontPage, over the built-in HTML control at dotnetweblogs.com is that I tend to want all of my links to open in a new window, rather than navigating away from my blog (I know, some people probably find this irritating, but that's an argument for another day). |

Sun Rolls Out Trusted Solaris ... (Apr 08 2003 23:57 GMT) - Sun Rolls Out Trusted Solaris for x86. The decision to make Trusted Solaris available on Intel-based servers is part of Sun's larger overall strategy to renew its commitment to the Unix-based OS on that platform. [Technology News from eWEEK and Ziff Davis] '-- The Standard Edition will retail for $999 while the Certified version will cost $2,495. --' For many reasons, I trust Sun's trusted systems more than I trust anything from Microsoft. |

Talk about the good guys... (Apr 08 2003 23:57 GMT) - Denise points us into the direction of this TechTV article on blogging. Nice article, but how come they forgot the best of all XML-RPC blogging tools? EspressoBlog beats the living daylights out of any other blogging tool I've seen so far. It's the only one to offer a flexible Trackback pinging interface, the only one with a working implementation of metaWeblogAPI file uploads, date macros for postings, and a lot more coolness. This advertisement was brought to you by a satisfied user, and posted with EspressoBlog |

That's the lead into an IEEE Distributed Systems story. The odd twist, not noted in the story, is that health care, which has vastly more to gain by joining the 21st century, still writes out co-payment reciepts by hand, writes unreadable prescriptions by hand, and in many practices, still manages the appointment calendar using a pencil on a calendar. |
