.iq domain operator facing terrorism charges (Apr 10 2003 11:49 GMT) - A lengthy article from The Register says the US-based operator of Iraq's .iq country domain is awaiting trial on charges of funding terrorist groups. The company is closely related to InfoCom , which hosts a large number of Islamic web sites, and was raided by the FBI in September 2001 and again late last year. The .iq domain is currently run an individual - a man called Saud Alani who gives a Baghdad telephone number yet is based in George Bush's home state of Texas. |

Pennsylvania liquor store ID scanners keep records for police (Apr 10 2003 11:39 GMT) - Via Politech , driver's license scanners used at Pennsylvania liquor stores have apparently been relaying records to a government database, and subsequently monitored by police. Every liquor store in the state uses the scanners, along with some bars and nightclubs.
