Gambling with Leftovers (Apr 14 2003 23:59 GMT)

- Another busy week starts off with leftovers. A weekend visit to Panera netted us more than half a plain ham and cheese sandwich that couldn't quite finish. Mom and Dad can't complain - she ate plenty and we make Monte Carlos with the rest. Some simple soup and salad round out the meal. Lest we forget, the meal ends with some very good brownies.

Surah al-Insan ayah 8 (Apr 14 2003 23:57 GMT)

- Wa yut'imuna at-ta'ama ala hubbihi miskinan wa yatiman wa asira And they give food, in spite of their love of it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive The following is an excerpt of commentary on this ayah, from Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Ala hubbihi could also be read "for love of Him". It has been said that this means the love of Allah, the Most High. In their view the pronoun refers to Allah. However, the most apparent meaning is that the pronoun refers to the food.

- Go Mr TGangsta rap pioneer Ice-T has always been one of the biggest advocates of Internet distribution and MP3 trading. Along with Chuck D, Ice has maintained that the Internet will revolutionize the music industry by cutting out all the middle men. And much like Chuck, he is making strides to begin the revolution by entering into a deal with Kazaa and Altnet to release his new album, 'Repossession'.With technology today, artists don't need to rely on the workings of a traditional label to get their music to consumers, and without the label being in the middle to get a stake, it enables artists like myself to generate more revenue through selling product ourselves, Ice-T added in a statement. SourceNow that's what the music industry is really frightened of!
