youngpup.net (Apr 20 2003 23:59 GMT) - Wow. Have you seen youngpup.net? This may be one of the best DHTML/CSS-driven sites I've ever seen. This is what I meant when I said that many of Flash's effects can be accomplished by clever use of Dynamic HTML and style sheets. |

Cleaning LCD Screens? (Apr 20 2003 23:58 GMT) - What you use to clean off your LCD screen(s)? I have a few notebooks of varying age and some external LCD monitors. Being the slob I am, I haven't cleaned them in a long, long time. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to clean them without leaving streaks and without damaging them. So, on this Easter Sunday, I ask... |

negatives, and other such nonsense (Apr 20 2003 23:56 GMT) - What's with this constant reversal of "cool" catchphrases? It seems nobody notices the pattern, here, since it just continues in a vicious cycle. Firstly, something is "good".. meaning, it is nice, or pleasureable, or what have you. Then, it's "bad"...... |

Cleaning the garage (Apr 20 2003 23:55 GMT) - Since the weather is nice today, Brad and I decided to tackle the garage. He'd already done an admirable job on cleaning out the huge stack of cardboard boxes by the garage door and pulling out most of the railroad ties that lined our driveway. So today we cleaned out the rest of the crap and picked up the remaining railroad ties. We still have to do the basement, but it's nice to be able to see the 3rd garage spot again. And I found the bags of clothes that I was going to take to Salvation Army (yup, buried among the other crap), so I'll drop that stuff off next week. |

Heh - I'm watching TV ... (Apr 20 2003 23:54 GMT) - Heh - I'm watching TV and that commercial for the anti-heartburn pill, Nexium, comes on. Now, this commercial is goofy as hell in the first place, making heartburn and acid-reflux overdramatic and...well, excessively silly. And they're playing some music in the background, something also kind of dramatic and silly. I knew I recognized it from somewhere - it's the theme music from commercials for the Caribbean resort Atlantis. |

D, that's about an A. (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - So good news, I got a 64% on my Phil 230 test... Now I know that doesn't SEEM that good, but you have to consider that the class average was 44% and then with all the wonderfull statistics work you can do on that and the other info he gave out in class, I figure I'm in the top percent of this test. Crazy, isn't it. Although, I am only getting a 59% overall in the class. Don't know class average there. |

Welcome Back, Kotter! (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - So, this weekend was pretty damn fun... Friday night we were supposed to hang out with Andrew, Adam, Mike, Beak, Scott, and Me. Perhaps more, but who knows. Anyways, Adam called me and said that he didn't want to hang out, and we assumed that he was going to go hang out with Scott. So Andrew and I met up, and waited around for Beak to show up. |

Philosophical.. (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - So whenever I don't have access to a computer I always have really philosophical things to write about, but then by the time I get here, my mind goes blank and I can't think of what it was. I think it an inherited thing because my mom does the same. Also like when I know I'm going to have to have a converstaion with someone, I reherse what I'm going to say. I try and think of all the different rebuttles they'll have and try and plan for them. My mom does that too, when you're riding with her you can see her pointing at things, and making hand gestures as if she's talking, but she's really not. |

13 Hours. (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - Well, here it is, 13 hours after I left my apartment today and I'm just NOW returning, and had it not been that the "last" blue south bus leaves campus at 9:00. I would have still been there... I had my first class at 9, so I got the 8 bus to campus. Got there, had class, then MKTing test after that. |

I can feel so boring for someone so interesting (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - So this morning while I was waiting for the bus I came up with this great little blurb about how I'm feeling and it included the word "Agnostic." However before putting it up here I wanted to double check the definition of the word "Agnostic." So today at 3:30 when I first had a chance to go look it up, I did. I walked into the library, knowing the word. |

My Life Is Online (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - Oct and Nov of '01 are now online... Not much has happened since yesterday. I forgot to set my alarm clock ahead before I went to bed last night, so it didn't go off on time. Luckly the SNOW PLOWS were outside my window and woke me up. I had to rush to get ready, but I wasn't too bad. |

Lyrics (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - [Alanis Morissette, "You Owe Me Nothing In Return"] I'll give you careless amounts of out right Acceptance if you want it. I'll give you Encouragement to choose the path you want if you need it. You can speak of anger and doubts, Your fears and freak-outs and I'll hold it. You can share your so-called Shamefilled accounts of times in your life and I won't judge it. And there are no strings attached, You owe me nothing for giving the love that I give. |

Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom
|
Seattle Times (Apr 20 2003 23:53 GMT) - Fast, smart, fun and flashy: Cory Doctorow's "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" (Tor, $22.95) is all of the above. Even when science fiction is based on solid predictions, it can demonstrate the pinwheeling pyrotechnics of a first-class fireworks display. A longtime observer of life online, Doctorow depicts a cashless economy based on the constant, automatic tracking of public reputations by a nameless online utility. |

Dave Winer Is An Idiot (Apr 20 2003 23:50 GMT) - As you might have guessed from the title of this post, I started off writing a big tirade about this.
