Bacon & Eggs (Apr 28 2003 23:59 GMT) - This is one of those meals that seems like destiny. First off, it includes bacon. As far as some of us are concerned, a meal can start and end with bacon. This meal also lets us add our first single ingredient recipe to our cookbook (bacon, of course). Mostly, this works for us because it's a nice, simple way to start off the week. |

Maher "Mike" Hawash update (Apr 28 2003 23:59 GMT) - The Oregonian has front page news in this afternoons paper (no url online yet) - headline "Hillsboro man faces charges in plot to aid al-Qaida, Taliban". Paper reports that Hawash traveled to China to attempt to fight with the Taliban at the same time as the others arrested in Portland. Stayed in the same hotels, etc. Before he went, he transferred the house to his wife, and paid off the car loans. Maybe there's more then meets the eye to this stuff. |

Webads in Flash increasing.. (Apr 28 2003 23:58 GMT) - Article on ZDNet describes how the amount of WebAds made in Flash is increasing. This is relatively good news as the technology seems to become more of a standard on pretty much any site you go now. The not so good news is that advertisers go to the extremes and create the most annoying ads in Flash. You see, ads that are silent and confined to their boundaries are ok with most Internet surfers. Some pay attention to the blinking and moving ones, others do not. |

Which? (Apr 28 2003 23:57 GMT) - We put up a nice little Visual Net application a couple of weeks ago that's kind of unusual for us and with a bit more fun factor than your typical enterprise software deployment. Here's a teaser: Twelfth-century lay monks probably built parts of this magnificent stone edifice, incorporating a prehistoric monolith now set in a wall. Other features are a granite fireplace in the lounge and a granite pillar supporting a beam in the dining room. Contemplate these and more while drinking one of three ales drawn straight from the cask: |

Put the Asprin down. It might make your SARS worse. (Apr 28 2003 23:57 GMT) - Via Kenneth Hunt's Tech Observer: SARS patients may respond negatively to Asprin. Speaking of which; on the radio this morning there was an interview with a representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO). They're the guys trying to fight SARS despite the distraction of the US sugar industry trying to shut them down for saying sugar shouldn't constitute more than 10% of a diet (they think at least 25% of what you eat should be sugar). |
