English Muffin Pizzas (May 08 2003 23:59 GMT) - We needed something quick. It doesn't get much simpler than english muffin pizzas. As a side-benefit, we use up a little more leftover sauce. The kids both eat ( - 2, - 1). We eat. |

Having a problem with your iMac? OK, what colour is it? (May 08 2003 23:59 GMT) - There's a new eMac out, and it now means that nobody, not even educational users, can buy an original-style fruit-coloured iMac. The Register reports on the lasting impact of the original iMac; I've got some things to say about this as well. One of the great things about the iMac was that it got rid of nonsense about model numbers and so forth. Dell offers a number of desktops, and they're all called product name four-digit number. |

Whose Hype? (May 08 2003 23:58 GMT) - The number of people under-hyping social software grossly outweights those hyping it. Most of these folks must enjoy being able to talk about hype threat of something besides blogging. All good. |

Feed Tweaks (May 08 2003 23:58 GMT) - I've made no secret of how much I love SharpReader news aggregator, and lately I've started using it to keep up with my favorite blogs (although some of my favorites don't seem to have RSS feeds). Now I'm going to stir the pot on bloggers feeding full posts - with or without comments - via RSS/XML, because "it's a good thing." Wuji talked me into putting out a version of my RSS feed with comments and pointed me to a collection of helpful links on RSS feeds over at the Wujiblog. Over at UnixGal I found some more info, including templates to plug right into MoveableType. Of course the MT Support Forums have a whole thread on the matter, including an entry containing the template for an RSS feed with full comments enabled. |

Speaking of bad-boy 'bots, Cyveillancebot ... (May 08 2003 23:57 GMT) - Speaking of bad-boy 'bots, Cyveillancebot has yet to visit and read all of the Cyveillance-related material posted on this blog since Monday - thousands of words which contain the names of every major Cyveillance client, a treatise on copyright violation (theirs) etc. etc. It's been linked from Slashdot's Your Rights Online and Dave Winer's Scripting News - two sites that you'd think would be crawled (if not read daily) by a service that claims to keep its finger on the pulse of the Internet for big-deal corporate customers. It could be that they have another, stealthier 'bot; it could be that they don't care what people they regard as 'Net-nobodies' write.... |
