Adriaan's thoughts on the MetaWeblog API (May 09 2003 23:58 GMT) - Adriaan, who I lunched with awhile ago, is the developer of Kung-Log, which is the client I use to post to MT. He writes about his thoughts on the MetaWeblog API. He is a good example of someone who actually has to use all of the API's to try to allow his users to post to the variety of weblogs. We REALLY should try to keep the API consistant so that people like Adriaan can continue to write tools for blogs. As the blog software folks start their feature race, the trick will be for the API to keep up with everything. |

Is M-Commerce Dead and Buried? (May 09 2003 23:58 GMT) - Back in early 2000, mobile commerce seemed to have sky-high potential. Needless to say, almost none of the hype surrounding this technology bore fruit in reality. Is m-commerce dead -- or is it just a sleeping giant whose time has yet to come? |

Restaurant Hierarchies: Leading the "We Generation" (May 09 2003 23:58 GMT) - I think it was around the same time when everyone was talking about "professionalizing" our industry that a "We Generation" employment culture emerged -- a parliamentarian style, management-by-consensus arrangement which seems to better promote alpha-group-debate rather than the right kind of organizational structure to manage employees in accordance with advancing the restaurant's goals.
