Who was that masked man? (May 27 2003 14:59 GMT) - Who was that masked man? A bunch of friends decide to fool their local paper into thinking there is a real-life superhero in Tunbridge Wells. Local paper falls for it hook line and sinker. Swiftly followed by national media. This thread on a Divine Comedy discussion board describes the whole dastardly plot unfolding. |

Bringing It Home There is ... (May 27 2003 14:59 GMT) - Bringing It Home There is a difference between observation and fact, and for that mater between observation and truth. I'd say that the two can coincide but there is no necessity for them to do so. Moreover, the fact that two things exist and can be defined does not give any indication as to their significance. A case in support of this line of reasoning might just be my attempt to reconcile the old and new in everyday Japanese society. Please see my original posts on this topic: |

the tyranny of days (May 27 2003 14:58 GMT) - Updates will be sporadic over the coming weeks. I've found myself decreasingly able to provide fresh content for this space. I need a change of mental scenery. The idea that with each passing day, dozens of people visit this page only to see the same thing they read last week, creates simultaneously a desire to write more and an inability to do so well. There have been days when I've been inspired by lint... |

Microsoft fordert neue Ausschreibung in München [Update] (May 27 2003 14:57 GMT) - Lachhaft. |

The Harry Tuttle award (May 27 2003 14:56 GMT) - The weekend's Harry Tuttle award goes to Robert Ivanc. On Friday he wrote to inform me that my weblog was interfering with an otherwise painless visit to the dentist: A few days ago, I was waiting at a dentist and trying to kill the time thought of using my Nokia 3650 (with Doris HTML browser) to have a look at your site, to see if there's anything there that might put my mind on other matters than the precarious closeness of the dentist drilling machines! And what I found out was how hard it was to get to the actual content on your site...I had to scroll through all of what is usually hidden... |
