45 minute claim for Iraq WMD (May 31 2003 23:54 GMT) - The Independent (UK): Tony Blair's sensational pre-war claim that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction "could be activated within 45 minutes" was based on information from a single Iraqi defector of dubious reliability, The Independent on Sunday can reveal. British intelligence sources said the defector, recruited by Ahmed Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress, told his story to American officials. It was passed on to London as part of regular information-sharing with Washington, but British intelligence chiefs considered the "45 minutes" claim to be unreliable and uncorroborated by any other evidence. |

Done. Finally Done. (May 31 2003 23:50 GMT) - Jason and I headed in to downtown early this afternoon so I could finish up the project that was started yesterday. I couldn't send out the documents that I had with pages missing, and I didn't discover that they were missing until noon, when I got the project in the first place. I didn't find where the missing pages were at until after 3:30 when I thought to ask the secretary if she had seen them. So I had to have the copy guy bring me my documents, then I sorted them out and put them in order with the other documents he copied yesterday afternoon. |

Blogger News Item (May 31 2003 23:49 GMT) - I took my son to the mall today because there was a Shirt He Had to Buy. After all, he’s Going Out tonight and can’t be seen in the filthy rags we usually clothe him in. Since it was raining anyway I decided to bite the bullet and take him. After about a half hour of driving around the parking lot we finally found a space when a Martha Stewart look-alike got into her Volvo and pulled out. Now there’s nothing I hate more than Going To The Mall, unless it’s going there during Christmas shopping season. |
