Dangerous for what or who? ... (Jun 24 2003 21:59 GMT) - Dangerous for what or who? In the list of comments on the Supreme Court's decision that the library filtering law is constitutional, this opinion piece must be among the most stupid and ignorant: The Internet's greatest moral challenge remains its spread of pornography. How exactly is porn a moral challenge for the Internet, and even more, the "greatest"? |

Weekend in BC (Jun 24 2003 21:59 GMT) - On Sunday afternoon, I drove Highway 97C from Merritt to Kelowna to see a dear old friend. It was a gorgeous day and the highway was empty. Having not been in the interior of the province for several years, I was stunned by its beauty. The terrain is this gorgeous earth tone impressionist painting, and the country rolls along in these lazy hills that seem to go on forever. I need |

No quibbles (Jun 24 2003 21:58 GMT) - I believe that, under normal circumstances, I am very patient. Iranian Protests (Jun 24 2003 21:54 GMT) - Poll: Majority Backs Use of Force in Iran (washingtonpost.com) I hope it never comes to war, but it's nice to know public support is there to be sure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons. I'm hopeful that the Iranian people -- particularly the young people who make up a strong majority of the population -- will overthrow the mullahs and busy themselves with peaceful pursuits, such as commerce. If it does come to war we're well positioned to attack from both Iraq and Afghanistan but, again, I would rather see the Iranians take care of it themselves. |
