Music Notes (Aug 09 2003 17:40 GMT) - When the Argentine rock troupe Los Enanitos Verdes (the Green Dwarves) opened for Alejandra Guzmán at Phoenix's Dodge Theatre in March, the group sort of stole the show. Guzmán had to show some skin to get the crowd back into it. |

Teen movies were tasty in the '80s (Aug 09 2003 17:40 GMT) - Because we're revisiting the 1980s in this 8/8 issue of Caliente, it's a rad time to rediscover one of the movie genres that decade gave us - the teen movie. Oh, there were excellent movies about teens before the 1980s - "American Graffiti" comes to mind - but the '80s lifted teen flicks to new prominence. It's the era that brought us Tom Cruise, John Hughes and Long Duk Dong. |

Ronnie Milsap plays all-ages gig tonight (Aug 09 2003 17:40 GMT) - Not just your mama's Milsap - The guy who crossed over from country to rock/pop before crossing over was cool, Ronnie Milsap, who was huge in the 80's, doesn't rely on oldies but goodies: He's got new jazz and country albums in the works.
