24 hours to ... what? (Aug 10 2003 23:15 GMT) - And so, as Jack Bauer ends his ordeal without any sleep, any trips to the bathroom, or any visible form of food other than sporadic liquid snacks sucked at the wheel of the latest stolen car (Sorry Sir, we have to take your vehicle), I wonder to myself... What the heck am I going to do on Sunday nights, for the next six months? Is 24 the only program currently on television, which is in... |

Creating a dynamic asssembly using System.CodeDOM (Aug 10 2003 23:12 GMT) - After working with the CodeDOM classes this week I added the above static method to one of the helper classes in my project. I've ommitted some custom code and exception handling to keep the posting from getting too long, but hopefully the snippet shows how easy it is to use the CodeDOM classes to create dynamic assemblies. public static Assembly CreateAssembly(string[] referencedAssemblies, string source){ // compile the codeCSharpCodeProvider prov = new CSharpCodeProvider();ICodeComp comp = prov. CreateCompiler(); |

Building Permanence into Nano Publishing (Aug 10 2003 23:08 GMT) - Nano Publishing News Building a Nano Publishing business using a weblog platform is a huge investment. There is the investment in time that the weblog writer puts into writing and publishing each article, the investment in time in reading other people's weblogs and responding to them, as well as the investment in money required to pay for hosting, development of artwork, and other content investments that may be required. Building up a large store of online articles, though, is one of the most important investments you can make. Your nano publishing site becomes a store house of information -- you get listed in Google and other search engines and develop at least 30% of your traffic from simply being there. There is huge value in those links. |

Israel's Wall: Security or Hegemony? (Aug 10 2003 23:05 GMT) - Stephanie Khourie and Fouad Hallak from the PLO's Negotiation Support Unit gave a presentation around the issue of settlements in the West Bank and Israel's construction of a security wall at the Middle East Institute, July 17 '03. This is the same presentation given to National Security Adviser Condoleeza Rice, persuading her to bring up the issue of the wall to Israeli Prime Minister Sharon. The presentation provides a detailed look at the pattern of Israeli settlements and the partially constructed wall in the West Bank as a means of "cantonizing" a future Palestinianstate. There is currently a proposal from the administration to "dock" any money spent on the wall from US loan guarantees to Israel. The wall is expected to cost about $740 million, extending 370 miles, according to the Washington Post. |

The Return Of Rubik's Cube (Aug 10 2003 23:05 GMT) - I saw the headline for this article in a local paper. Glad it got covered a bit in the blogosphere... When I was a kid, I was one of millions who had a Rubik's cube, though, I never got all that good at it. I could solve it, but it would take a lot of time and a lot of trial and error. I thought that the fad had died, but apparently Rubik's cubes are making a comeback. |
