School Days (Aug 12 2003 18:54 GMT) - I'm going to be a student! Starting September 29, I'll be taking a leave of absence from my lovely job to attend the Internet Professional Program, a full-time, nine-month certificate program offered by UBC Continuing Studies, Division of Applied Technology. Here's a tenative list of the courses I'll be taking: Introduction to the Internet Professional Program Web Graphics with Photoshop and ImageReady Fundamentals of Web Design Usability and Interface Design Fundamentals of Web Multimedia with Flash Interactive Web Multimedia with Flash ABCs of Programming Client-side Programming (JavaScript) Rich Internet Programming with Flash Database Fundamentals with Access Programming SQL with Access Online Databases with SQL Server 2000 Fundamentals of Database-Driven Web Applications with ColdFusion and Dreamweaver XML Advanced Database-Driven Web Applications with ColdFusion and Dreamweaver Securing Web Applications Implementing an Internet Payment Service Comparative Programming Rich Internet Application Development with Flash and ColdFusion Internet Audio/Video/Data Applications with Flash Communication Server Web Project Management Internet Marketing Outsourcing and Contracting It's a pretty good list, I think. UBC have decided to concentrate on a single server-side technology and, while I would have preferred that they focus on something other than ColdFusion, I think that's a good idea. |
