Debian madness. (Aug 12 2003 23:59 GMT) - I've used Debian at home for the past few years (previous to that Redhat, and previous to that Slackware). Now I've got almost everything at my company running off that as well - I'm up to about a dozen boxes... |

Honda CB750 "Nighthawk" (Aug 12 2003 23:59 GMT) - With just over 3400 miles, my new 2002 Honda CB750 "Nighthawk" sparkled in the parking lot as I arrived at ValuCycle yesterday afternoon for delivery. After a short ride to make sure it was acceptable, I signed the check and... |

I've got to clean this place up (Aug 12 2003 23:58 GMT) - You know, the Movable Type stuff is really nice, but the number of templates/styles they give you to start off with aren't that comprehensive. I'm going to have to clean the look and feel of this place up a bit.... |

pet portal (Aug 12 2003 23:56 GMT) - because we have two "kids" (dogs), it difficult to keep track of all of their vaccinations and such. and no matter where we are, i am always looking for a "doc in the box" (as my ex-mil used to call them); essentially, vets that stay open 24/7, in case anything happens other than during "normal business hours." we have found such two such places here in d.c. |

A Boot In The Teeth? (Aug 12 2003 23:56 GMT) - That's what Billy Beck says the IRS got recently. I don't see it; this doesn't amount to a whole lot. I gather Vernice Kuglin was acquitted of felony tax evasion because the IRS never answered her questions about why she owed tax. She isn't going to jail but I expect we'll soon see that the IRS doesn't need to explain squat to seize her property or garnish her wages. |

Good lord! A Raymond Roussel link! (Aug 12 2003 23:55 GMT) - Wow. I didn't think many people knew about Raymond Roussel, but Tate whatsit at obscurantist.net linked to this Roussel link here. Raymond Roussel's Locus Solus is perhaps the most amazing book I've read in the last couple of years. I looked for months for a copy to buy, but then finally broke down and photocopied an entire Inter-Library Loan book. |

Is it just me. (Aug 12 2003 23:53 GMT) - Last post by ni on 00:26 13/Aug/03 - OR, am I the only one finding the rerun of the second IAP series a bit more enjoyable than the first time it aired, maybe it's because I'm a bit wrecked (because I'm so cool I get wrecked - every few seconds). |

Killing the music: who's the real enemy here? (Aug 12 2003 23:52 GMT) - Ars Technica posts Killing the music: who's the real enemy here? with a pointer to an equally good BBC article. Bottom line: sharing a party mix with friends, or letting a friend check out a new album is not the same as selling mass-duplicated copies on the street corner. |
