Curse you, Gerhard Schroeder (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - "Is someone on coke?" says Howard Dean. No, no, it is unthinkable to these duplicitous multiculturalists that American force is a force for good. Refusing to stand behind the President, leftists would rather engage in contemptibly fork-tongued moral equivalence as... |

E-QUOTES: KEVIN RAYBOULD (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - All this hand waving about the sanctity of marriage and the supposed promiscuity of homosexuality, and the supposed damage gay marriage could do to heterosexual marriage* - it's a smoke screen, meant to obscure the fact that the real issue is contract law. It is really nothing more than the desperate search for intellectual justification to deny unpopular people full equality. *This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard, including the time a friend of mine said "I bet I can hit the tailpipe with this M-80". I mean, really. How many heterosexual men thought to themselves "Well, I really like guys, but getting married is just so important to me that I guess I will have to take the only option available and ask her to marry me. |

MORE BRASS KNUCKLE DIPLOMACY? WHERE IS THE US MEDIA? (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - Who is Herman Cohen and why is he silencing allies who speak out about the justification for American preemptive war? Lou Barranti dropped me an email pointing to this article. He wonders why the American press hasn't made a peep. So do I. Herman Cohen is a former assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs. |

LATE NIGHT POLITICAL LINGUISTICS (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - Alright, I'll admit it - he's the sharpest wit out there, and Goodness Gracious, isn't he a conversational gas! Still, I'd like to see him try that with a French Martini under his belt. Virtual, of course.... |

NOW WE'RE RACISTS? (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - Well, isn't this rich? The Telegraph is reporting that Condi Rice has blasted opponents of Bush & Co's manufactured war on Iraq as racists. Racists. Can you believe it? First, we're un-American for asking questions and actually wanting answers. |

ONE MAN'S WORST IS ANOTHER MAN'S RONALD REAGAN (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - Last week, Right Wing News (RWN) crossed the ideological divide to poll over 100 Liberal bloggers on their selections for the Top 20 Worst Figures in American History. The definition of "worst" was for some reason left deliberately loose - incompetents and evil-doers were to share the same 20 slots. Well, with responses from a bit more than 40% of those approached, the results are now in, and available for your review. Actually, I'm surprised that George W. Bush ended up as likable as he did (ninth worst). |

FROM THE "WEBLOG GEEK" FILE (Aug 12 2003 23:14 GMT) - If you're a Code-Clueless blogger now using Movable Type software, or you are contemplating the move, here is a valuable resource for you to stash away: illustrated MT templates. Now, for the first time, and thanks to Mediatinker, we visual types can easily figure out the jumble of code before us. It's always helpful when someone strolls in and switches on the light. Isn't it? |

Check out The Great Book of Tomorrow, that collection of veddy sharp political comic strips from Dan Perkins, aka Tom Tomorrow. This treasury of toons spans 20 some-odd years of work - most of which I'd never seen before. |
