An Analysis Of A Paul Krugman Column (Aug 13 2003 01:56 GMT) - Phil Carter does a detailed analysis of former Enron advisor Paul Krugman's column on the state of affairs in Iraq and faults him for relying on Col. David Hackworth too much. I use Hackworth's columns from time to time and found it interesting. It's mostly inside baseball stuff, but makes for an interesting read. I can say that Krugman is always looking for a way to blame privatization whenever the opportunity arises and it makes me skeptical. |

Putting Webcams In The Classroom (Aug 13 2003 01:55 GMT) - Just a few weeks ago we had a story of a school district soundly rejecting plans to put webcams in classrooms to let parents watch over their kids' daily activities. Apparently, parents in Mississippi are less concerned, as a school district there is moving forward with webcam equipped classrooms. Of course, these webcams aren't for parents to view - or even teachers. They're supposedly there for security, and only school administrators and board members claim they have access. How long until we have either a story of (a) misuse by one of the approved viewers or (b) a student hacking their way in to the video streams? |

Link Building for Top Search Engine Placement (Aug 13 2003 01:53 GMT) - For many, the idea of optimizing a website for top search engine placement means entering some META tags, maybe titling the page appropriately, and then youre done. A long time ago, in an SEO galaxy far FAR away, this tactic worked. Unfortunately for those optimizing their websites, and fortunately for those using search engines to find information, this is no longer the case. |
