Job Lead? (Aug 13 2003 05:55 GMT) - Apparently, I've been missing out on an entire niche market while looking for new employment. Selling things that don't exist. Not so much in the eBay scammer sort of way, but as Julian Dibble is doing, by selling virtual wares and items from Ultima Online to real customers. This is actually a pretty interesting concept, and it involves sitting in front of the computer for hours and hours each day (which I'm apparently good at). Unfortunately, I've never played Ultima Online, so I'm at a disadvantage there. |

Food study in Vietnam finds high dioxin levels (Aug 13 2003 05:54 GMT) - Decades after the wartime defoliant Agent Orange was sprayed over the country, Vietnamese continue to be exposed to a toxic ingredient through the consumption of contaminated food, according to a new study. The study, published in the August issue of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, found that six of 16 food samples taken last year from around the southern city of Bien Hoa, a former U.S. air base, had high levels of dioxin, a component of Agent Orange. The levels measured approached those found during the Vietnam War. |

Bumper Car Personality Test (Aug 13 2003 05:54 GMT) - A few thoughts about bumper cars:Do you look for the open space, keeping to the outside, purposefully trying to avoid any collisions?Do you do the opposite, actively looking for any other (every other) car to ram?Is it combination of the first two, using the open space to pick up speed for a good bone-jarring bump?Do you just spin around in the middle somewhere, never able to get the car to move in the direction you want, lurching backwards, forward, sideways? |
