Overture and Quigo Team up for Contextual Ads (Aug 13 2003 14:50 GMT) - The contextual advertising ball keeps rolling, as MediaPost reports that Quigo signed a deal with Overture. This may indicate that Overture is planning to pursue the smaller and mid-sized publishers that use the Quigo contextual advertising services. Für Chat, Mail und News benutze ich eh andere Programme, als den Mozilla, also warum mal nicht ausprobieren? Bisher bin ich wirklich sehr zufrieden damit. Der Browser ist schön flott und auch das gemeinsame Benutzen der Bookmarks mit Mozilla funktioniert wunderbar. Lediglich zwei Dinge vermisse ich noch: |

ResourceShelf writes about an exciting web search technology, described by IBM's Paul Horn as "Google on steroids." The company has high hopes for Web Fountain, which was originally developed for a record company. The technology reads and understands text, and uses natural language to make correlations between words. Unlike traditional search, Web Fountain searches everything on the Web, including chat rooms, when set to that parameter. |

But which I don't think are written down much. This is the kind of social knowledge that Phil Agre complains that smart people are often sadly entirely unaware of. For example I like this peice about a technique he's tried for drawing forth the folks on the long tail of the power-curve. |
