Outages (Aug 15 2003 07:54 GMT) - I sit in front of a TV and keep on thinking: as long as there is live TV coverage from the US East Coast, an area of total grid failure and complete outages, it can't really be all that bad. It's disturbing, but I'd really start to worry once CNN goes blank. I watch Michael Bloomberg delivering his speech in front of the press, and he says New York City will make all updated emergency information available on the city council's web sites. Well, once people can access the web, isn't the power back by then? |
