Taiwan issues 22M Java Cards (Sep 30 2003 12:22 GMT) - Taiwan has completed issuing twenty two million Java-based ID cards through its bureau of National Health Insurance. The cards were distributed to prevent identity theft to obtain subsidized health care. The distribution started in July of 2002. |
