Disney is launching a service ... (Sep 30 2003 23:23 GMT) - Disney is launching a service in several test markets has the potential (once it matures) to pull me away from Netflix [ArsTechnica]. Netflix is essentially movies on-demand, but with a slow network. Speed that network up a little bit and you will have an even better service. That's what Disney is trying to do and there are certainly many others waiting in the wings to jump on this opportunity once they finally decide it can be profitable. In them mean time, everyone is cautious to take the plunge. |

SCIRI [Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq ed.] member Bayan Jabr told Egypt Radio on 29 August that Ba'athist elements were likely behind the attack on al-Hakim. Those who benefit from them are the remaining members of the Iraqi regime, those who cooperate with it and those who try to cause unrest in many parts of Iraq." Though the album will feature the same track listing as the original, the music it contains has been stripped of the orchestration that was added by legendary producer Phil Spector -- thus restoring Paul McCartney's "back to basics" concept that originally underpinned the project....All and all it's been a good day for music. Finally -- good news! (Sep 30 2003 23:21 GMT) - My voice is starting to come back today! It's sort of in fits and starts, and sometimes it disappears altogether again for awhile, but I can talk again! When I do have a voice it's more than an octave lower than my normal voice and sounds extremely gravelly, but it's coming back, and that's all I care about! In celebration, I'll stop fooling with the fonts to illustrate how I'm doing and just type normally again, even though I still have quite a way to go before my voice is back to normal. I wasn't just being silly when I did that -- it reduced a little of my frustration somehow. |
