- JeffL, I had a similar situation trying to revive three TP 600 packs that were discarded from where I work. First, I tried using the regular charge with the pack installed inside the ThinkPad, and saw that none of the packs held a charge. Then I opened them and saw why an external "zap" wouldn't work. There is a regulator/protection circuit ahead of the batteries, and maybe the "zap" damaged the circuit. Then I tried "zapping" each cell with an automobile battery charger, touching the contact for a half second or less. |
