Be a Remodel, or Just Look Like One (Oct 01 2003 15:38 GMT) - (Schabe) Blah. They are remodeling our office. This meant that I had to clean out my cube in its entirety and pack everything in a box. Our fax machines were scattered to the four winds, our printers are now in the farther corner reaches of the office, and all the support materials that I must maintain are now stacked up on a desk. All this for the pleasure of new carpet and not having various Crayola- ... |

Whether the FBI covers this up or not, everyone is going to know that it was Rove. The journalists aren't going to confirm it on the record, but everybody is going to know. |

Great news for downtown Greensboro ... (Oct 01 2003 15:37 GMT) - Great news for downtown Greensboro -- federal funds are on the way to help clean up the brownfield site at the corner of South Elm and Lee. Thanks to Liddy Dole and Mel Watt for their work, and the $5 million. The idea of using federal grants and loans was first raised last year by political activist and sometime mayoral candidate Roch Smith. Take a bow, Roch, you have done a real service for Greensboro. |

Brighthand Celebrates Four Years Online (Oct 01 2003 15:36 GMT) - Brighthand has a new look, and a new article recapping the past four years and where they're headed for the future. I like the green - there are too many blue sites out there. [Emoticon: wink] "Four years ago today, while working as a computer consultant in Atlanta and waiting for the arrival of the dreaded Year 2000, I started the Brighthand web site. It was a humble beginning, four articles and no discussion forums, but in early 2000 we broke the news of the yet-to-be-announced Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC and things have never been the same. |

RSS-DATA (Oct 01 2003 15:36 GMT) - Jeremy Allaire has posted his thoughts for expanding the role of RSS into data-oriented applications. I particularly like this idea because of its support of unintended consequences. Just like Amazon.com's and Google's web-services interfaces, I can imagine publishing all sorts of data-based RSS feeds for others to take and run with. However as folks deploy feeds of a similar nature, it will highlight the need for standardized semantic models. |
