The New Democrats (Oct 01 2003 18:49 GMT) - But the real mission of Novak and other conservative commentators seems to be to suggest that the whole scandal is just an illusion being cooked up by those who opposed the war in Iraq, or who simply hate this president. Sorry, but that won't wash. We, for example, supported the war in Iraq. And you don't have to be a Bush-hater to recognize that the Bush White House has a well-deserved reputation for unsavory Nixonian traits that give credence to allegations that it might go way over the line to discredit its "enemies" or protect every element of the administration's case for going to war. The traits include obsessive secrecy, a mania for loyalty, a proclivity for hardball political tactics, and, more specifically, a siege mentality over the whole issue of Iraq's WMD program. |

Raining Sockets (Oct 01 2003 18:48 GMT) - Raining Sockets is a non-blocking, sockets-based framework which lets you instantiate a class that contains complete non-blocking IO code. Non-blocking IO allows one to create thousands of connections in a single thread, thus making applications highly scalable, compared to the thread-per-client model used prior to JDK 1.4. A user only needs to override the event that needs to be customized, such as what to do with arrived (or arriving) data, or what to do when a write has completed. |
