- Earlier this week, I sent my 12" PowerBook in for it's first repair. Upon returning from North Carolina a few weeks ago, I started to notice lots of problems with my laptop. It was hanging in weird places and having trouble reading and writing files. I tried a number of things, including repairing it with DiskWarrior, reinstalling the operating system, etc. Each time, things seemed to be working, and then I'd get to a particular place on the hard drive and it was start having problems again. |

Just had a LOUD cold call from an online casino - Missisippi - NASDAQ listed - apparently..had to put phone down and cut him off...couldnt get a word in edgeways!! lost a chance to purchase stock and now no chance of Bahamas!! |

- I forgot to mention in my report on Phoenix Con that I announced a bid to host Eurocon in Ireland in 2007. The decision on where to hold the 2007 Eurocon will be made at the 2005 event which in keeping with usual practice is being held concurrently with Interaction in Glasgow. Those with long memories will recall that in 1995, Dublin won the bid for the 1997 Eurocon. The committee promptly fell apart and the Convention was rescued at the last moment by the sterling efforts of Michael Carroll, Pearse Smythe and myself under the most excellent leadership of Karen Bollard.
