NIH And Congress Discuss Stem Cell Research (Oct 04 2003 14:59 GMT) - An article in the Guardian covers meetings between NIH representatives and Congress. Both sides are being disingenuous on the harm being caused to medical research in the US by anti-research legislation. (Although money is still flowing in the private sector to expand stem cell research centers). If you would like to see the US government allow research into the future of healthy life extension, you have to raise your voice. Contact your elected representatives today to ask them why they oppose improving health and saving lives. |

Canadian Stem Cell Debate Continues (Oct 04 2003 14:59 GMT) - The Globe and Mail notes the continuing debate in the Canadian parliament over stem cell research legislation. As in the US, uncertainty over the legal future of research is damaging progress. Funding for stem cell based regenerative medicine is much lower than it might otherwise be in both public and private sectors. Longer delays from current and threatened legislation mean more death and suffering before working stem cell therapies can be widely commercialized. I encourage you to raise your voices in support of medical research; |

Charisma is a good idea in need of a good writer (Oct 04 2003 14:55 GMT) - I also must comment on violence in the novel. It is overdone for a book whose message is supposed to be intelligence is the key to successful maneuvers. Barnes sometimes seems to glory in violence for violence sake, describing it in loving detail. |

There had been rumours lately about the possibilit ... (Oct 04 2003 14:54 GMT) - There had been rumours lately about the possibility of MSN messenger being removed, I was told that it is because of child abuse and child predators online. The children's Online Privacy protection Act was signed on 1998 and was effective 2000. The Privacy act is for those web hosters who have their sites for children under 13 and who collect personal information about children or if there is a generic website where specifically you know of cases where children under 13 are engaged then the Privacy protection act becomes effective to those sites and people who own them.1. This law is only within US , not a common law elsewhere in the world 2. |
