Nature Notes (Oct 06 2003 07:53 GMT) - This morning, coming back from taking J to the train, at about 7am we found a hedgehog snuffling along the garage door and around the front door looking for insects. Siobhan seemed pleased that spiders might be part of his morning breakfast.The small pear tree (its around 4' high), has just a few of its yellow fruit still clinging to the branches, todays wind will soon knock them off. This will mean that this little fruit tree has produced around 25 full size pears. Hard as rocks when they come off but they do ripen. |

Via Oliver Willis (Oct 06 2003 07:48 GMT) - Oliver Willis makes good points in "Deflating the Blog Bubble". Half of the United States poulation doesn't use the web much, if at all. At the same time, there is something notable going on in the blogosphere. I'm totally fine with political candidates buying TV ads from blogger donations. I think a lot of donors realize that they are paying for TV advertising and other expenses. |
