Reducing litter in W.Va. (Oct 08 2003 12:40 GMT) - USA Today reports that the West Virginia Citizen Action Group is lobbying the Legislature to pass a bill that calls for a 10-cent deposit on all single-use beverage containers. The West Virginia Retailers Association opposes the bill, saying it would be expensive and time consuming for small businesses. The Daily Mail has this article explaining the proposed bill in more detail.The intent of the bill is to reduce litter. In my opinion, bottles are not our biggest problem. |

Panther coming October 24th (Oct 08 2003 12:38 GMT) - Apple has announced that Panther (MacOS 10.3) will begin shipping on October 24th at 8PM. Apple stores and authorized resellers will have events akin to the 10.2 launch. Also announced was Panther Server which will be shipping the same day. |
