STSN Report Card (Oct 08 2003 19:59 GMT) - It's hard to get a read on STSN Wi-Fi usage because the company includes wired and wireless connections in its numbers: STSN is averaging 300,000 wired, wireless, and conference connections every month.... |

More on Meru's VoWLAN (Oct 08 2003 19:59 GMT) - This article offers slightly more detail on Meru's support for voice over WLAN: Meru says its suped-up QoS method can support 100 voice users per AP. I'd like to know what Meru offers for security. If it used VPN, it would have to require a VPN client on the handset, which is a bit of a deal breaker. Standard security like 802. |

News of the Unweird/Unwired (Oct 08 2003 19:59 GMT) - Read this if you're in need of a little laugh: Not to be totally harsh, but this is a really weird opinion article about Wi-Fi in Atlanta's Hartsfield airport clearly written by someone who has pretty much no understanding of Wi-Fi. It's just weird. OK, this one isn't nearly as weird: The article is about the city of Cincinnati's efforts to build a Wi-Fi cloud around town. |

Go Nokia! (Oct 08 2003 19:57 GMT) - Looking over this list of corruption levels by country, it is evident that there is some correlation between corruption and quality of life. But which is cause and which is effect? And since these numbers are only relative, are things getting better overall, or worse? How corrupt is your country? |

Blogger News Item (Oct 08 2003 19:57 GMT) - "You bet He will!" says Pastor Deacon Fred."Quite frankly, the answer is, absolutely yes! The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is very choosy when it comes to picking people to live with Him for eternity. Why else would He refer to His followers as the chosen people if He wasn't choosy? |

Atlanta Question (Oct 08 2003 19:55 GMT) - The Laptop - This is indeed a new instrument which can lend new dimensions to every performance. I applaud your desire to embrace its possibilities. I'm afraid, though, that no matter how talented the DJ, the live performance value is diminished when the only visible action occurring is the click of a mouse. At the risk of sounding too sci-fi, imagine a time when a musician must merely think of their part (or entire ensemble sounds) and these are taken directly from the brain to the speakers. What, then, becomes a concert? |

Tue 7 Oct: Atlanta GA - The Roxy (Oct 08 2003 19:55 GMT) - Like Dallas, Atlanta is a little bit of a mystery. We have great fans who come to see us wherever we perform, who are very enthusiastic and supportive...but we haven't really found a home here. The Roxy really isn't bad for a club, but also wouldn't be my first choice. Near the club is a place called Madeleine - French Pastry Cafe and I have breakfast and dinner there - I love French Onion soup. |
