Peugeot 406 Diesel Estate Problems [Brian Hunt] (Oct 09 2003 10:56 GMT) - Anyone had the same problems as me and got anywhere with getting money back from Peugeot? I have a R reg Peugeot 406 diesel estate - I've had it since new (originally a company car) - over the last three years I had the following problems (ironically all since I bought the car from the leasing company!). I also bought a mechanical warrenty - complete waste of money It stuck in reverse gear and had to be recovered by the RAC - the Peugeot dealer then stripped down the gearbox but found nothing wrong. That cost me £550. |

BioMedNet More bad news [requires 'free' registration] (Oct 09 2003 10:55 GMT) - "Scientific information that the US government wants to keep mum, but which can't officially be labeled "classified," has been designated "sensitive but unclassified." One example is the National Academy of Science's recent report on agricultural bioterrorism. Its chapter on bioterror case studies is available only on a need-to-know basis. Other professional groups may find themselves in the same boat, but the rules governing the category are anything but clear. Reference: |

Providing admin tools to users without passwords. (Oct 09 2003 10:55 GMT) - Found a very useful way of providing users the ability to run administrative tasks without providing passwords to the users. By using the runas command you can launch programs with different credentials, however you need to enter a password. If you provide the user with the password then they could use it to do a lot of other things. Providing a user with a batch file helps, but it doesn't take much brainpower to read the batch file and obtain the password. However, thanks to techtarget they suggest the use of Microsoft Script Encoder. |

Inside. Out. [ gulliver] (Oct 09 2003 10:55 GMT) - For years having conducted much-and-most of my commercial activites by phone & fax - subsequently to include web - it's become quite natural and increasingly common for me to hole-up in my hermitage and rarely venture forth into the world. In many cases it's been the 'only' way to work... with activities routinely thousands of miles away rather than on my doorstep, 'come visit' has rarely been that practical, appealing or advantageous. More recently, having removed myself physically from the commercial meccas, the situation has become 'more so'. With the time, hassle and expense associated with 'meet'... |
