Holidays in Germany (Oct 09 2003 23:12 GMT) - TWIST was forgotten for a past month, however, I will try to write it more regularly from now on. The next week is the autumn holidays in Grenaa Gymnasium. All people in the boarding school are going home. Unfortunately, this holiday I am not able to go home. However, I had a pleasant surprise, when one of my friends, Sofia, asked if I wanted to go with her to her home in Germany. |

Prison meat put on hold (Oct 09 2003 23:08 GMT) - I've never understood why Canadians try to rehabilitate criminals by having them work in slaughterhouses and meat packing plants, but they do, and as Kern and Dave Noisy pointed out, one of said packing plants has had its licence suspended due to "allegations of questionable practices at the abattoir." This is the second packing plant to have a suspension in the province of Ontario in the past 3 months. Of course, with nearly one in three butcher shops also experiencing problems keeping things legit, it's not like these are isolated cases. |

32 pounds of manure per 41 pounds of milk in Florida! (Oct 09 2003 23:08 GMT) - Some Florida environmental groups are getting ready to sue some dairies over their manure production. There are 225 dairy farms in Florida, with an average herd size of 693. |
