TECH TALK: SMEs and Technology: The Twin Traps (Oct 10 2003 00:57 GMT) - SMEs in emerging markets (SMEEMS) are caught in two traps: a technology trap and a marketing trap. Here is how the technology trap works. SMEEMS spend little on technology. Therefore, they tend to not be able to use the most optimum solutions for much of their business. |

The Stranded Canuck (Oct 10 2003 00:56 GMT) - My blog is still in the hands of the technicans so I thought I'd take shelter here at Mr. Wright's blog again. This weekend is the Canadian Thanksgiving. Do you know that Thanksgiving was celebrated in what would become Canada 43 years before it was in the US? We didn't have pilgrims, pumpkins or turkeys, our tradition comes from Europe. |

Thought Tidbits (Oct 10 2003 00:56 GMT) - RE: 40-Day of Purpose Last Sunday our church started with the 40-Days "Pre-Campaign Service. To start out the campaign (I really don't like that word in this context) the program asks three questions and answers: What does God want? He wants my whole life. |

Busy Week Prepping for the PDC (Oct 10 2003 00:55 GMT) - There are times when I have to admit that I'm glad the PDC isn't every year -- because frankly getting ready for it is exhausting work. ;-) I've spent most of this week doing prep work for the event, and just drove home after finishing a near-final review/edit of the Hands on Labs (HOL) for the Whidbey versions of ASP.NET and Visual Studio -- they are really starting to look great (kudos to Thomas Lewis for driving this). |

Your Wings' Update (Oct 10 2003 00:54 GMT) - Listening to the game against the Kings on the radio (you can join in here) -- six minutes left in the second period, Kings just tied it at 1 - 1. The "Let's go Red Wings" chant is goin' on....nice to hear it! (Even when it's more like spring outside -- it's 65 degrees right now and it hit 80 earlier in the day). |

Blogger News Item (Oct 10 2003 00:54 GMT) - Man. Al Sharpton is not just articulate, he is blowing everyone else on this stage away. He is really something. He used to drive me crazy with his baiting and the bullshit he used to toss around, but he has really come into his own. Every one of these debates, I heard nothing but wisdom out of his mouth, with |

Likely migration? (Oct 10 2003 00:54 GMT) - I'm in the midst of converting from Windows XP on my noisy Sony Vaio laptop to a beautiful new Apple 15-inch PowerBook G4. My second machine for over a year has been a 14-inch iBook -- and I've been waiting for the 15-inch PowerBook to "rev" which it did about a month ago. As part of that migration, I'm also experimenting with a new weblog tool: TypePad. Over the course of the next month or so, I'll be sorting out just how well TypePad meets my needs going forward -- or deciding to stay with Radio UserLand and just moving it to the new Mac. |
