'Not involved in the leaking of classified information' (Oct 11 2003 06:59 GMT) - Josh Marshall has commented several times recently about how Scott McClellan's response to questions about whether Karl Rove, Libby Lewis or Elliot Abrams took part in leaking the information about Valerie Plame's status as a CIA operative has consistently been... |

I'm having an absolute blast ... (Oct 11 2003 06:58 GMT) - I'm having an absolute blast on the etree/archive.org servers right now. There are so many new tapers who've done Matt Nathanson shows, Marc Broussard shows, Bob Schneider shows; it's so awesome! My hard drive is going to be screaming at me when I'm done tonight! |

The Cinderella series (Oct 11 2003 06:56 GMT) - Everyone's pulling for Sox vs. Cubs in the World Series, right? I don't even follow baseball that much and I can't wait to watch it if they both win their league series. The only thing that could make it a better match-up would be if somehow the Indians could also be battling for the pennant in some freakish round-robin thing. |

On being bought (Oct 11 2003 06:56 GMT) - After seeing ex machina" href="http://snowdeal. org/section/ex_machina/archive html#106579162010543063">this post (to answer that post directly, I would have been happy with $20 a month, since that's what I hoped for) and this other one about Google ads being the equivalent of a chilling effect bought and paid for, I think both authors are missing a vital point in what I wrote last week. The bottom line for all this discussion is simple: google ads aren't designed for typical blogs. |

3,649 to go... (Oct 11 2003 06:56 GMT) - I removed the "daily" photo thing that was on this site, because I was being pretty lazy and only updating once a month as of late. But instead of simply stopping that feature, I chose to do something a bit more ambitious. I like taking photos on a regular basis. I get a chance to practice and improve my technique and I also get the chance to capture memories in a format I can easily archive. As I've gotten older, I've noticed that time seems to move faster. |

BloggerCon2003 People Redux II (Oct 11 2003 06:50 GMT) - Two last thoughts on people: When I introduced myself to Joi Ito, and he said "I know you", I was a bit unnerved, but I thought to myself later that is true. He knows a little about everybody who's left a comment, trackback or logged onto his IRC channel all of which I have done in the past. Saw but did not introduce myself to Chris Locke. |

Every Condom a Killer: (Oct 11 2003 06:49 GMT) - Vatican in HIV condom row: "The Catholic Church has been accused of telling people in countries with high rates of HIV that condoms do not protect against the deadly virus. The claims are made in a Panorama programme called Sex and the Holy City to be screened on BBC One on Sunday. It says cardinals, bishops, priests and nuns in four continents are saying HIV can pass through tiny holes in condoms." — |
