- Anna from berlin has a good set of tips about how to write and communicate effectively in an international activist network. They include things like not assuming people know the meaning of 501 c3 or IRS or that if you say Modesto or Santa Fe you need to specify what COUNTRY you are talking about. Perhaps we could all assume if somebody writes like the rest of the world doesn't exist, they must be a gringo, but that seems less than ideal. - CONGRATS TO SHIRIN EBADI for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Ebadi is a pro-democracy activist in Iran. Also, congrats to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee for not giving it to Hans Blix or Jacques Chirac, as had been reported. Last year, I took offense at the awarding of the Prize to Jimmy Carter -- not because he didn't deserve it, but because the selection committee explicitly stated that he was being rewarded for opposing the Bush Administration. Fortunately for me, this year's winner does not offend my politics. |
