buyer's remorse: Comp USA (Oct 14 2003 04:58 GMT) - Most people, when they say they're "wired," speak of a caffeine high. In my case it may be more literally true — I may have PC boards and EEPROMs in my brain. That would explain my affinity for technology... the grace with which my existence is suffused when all my CPU-based possessions are functioning well, and the despair I suffer when even one of them is broken. |

Contributing to the Bottom Line (Oct 14 2003 04:57 GMT) - Though I've never actually seen the mythical "bottom line," I've managed to contribute to it in a tangible way this year--or so I'm told. Apparently a project I worked on earlier this year (one I never blogged about) has been tweaked and put into production by the person who inherited it from me. It's actually making money. And now some of our international groups are interested in using it too. Kick Ass! |

The Minisster even said that seven people had been detained. |

plug (Oct 14 2003 04:56 GMT) - I've got another new post up at Open Source Politics. This one goes back to a topic that I addressed in my very first post to OSP, but this time with some good news for victims of domestic violence. The post is about a decision handed down last week by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that deepens the law's understanding of what abusive relationships are like. Not all the abuse is physical. As a side note, the Hernandez case was originally handled by the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, where I now work as a volunteer paralegal, and was argued on appeal by the Northwest Women's Law Center, where I did my paralegal internship this last summer. |
