Liminal (Oct 14 2003 13:44 GMT) - The moon shows through behind blue sky like a pale punchhole of cloud, spilling cold light on toes curled grass-wet in my sneakers, shivering for sun. A brown leaf, somehow already dry, curls its back to the air and skitters six papery feet on the breeze, dragging a stem tail down the street and out of sight with a rattle.... |

My first appearance in a feed reader screenshot (plus parameter passing explanation?) (Oct 14 2003 13:44 GMT) - Woo hoo, Adam's been working on a news feed reader (RSS reader is no longer appropriate, or at least won't be soon), and I'm in the feed list Adam has more perspective than I do on GUI toolkits. Having never yet gotten to use MFC or Windows Forms (or GTK, or QT, etc.) I've been interested in the differences between GUI toolkits. His post makes it seem like there's not much significant difference between them. That's good news to me, because A. |

Problems, problems (Oct 14 2003 13:42 GMT) - So the laptops were all set to roll out today. The guys using the current ones had PS/2 keyboard and/or mice attached to their old ones, and since these new ones don't have a PS/2 port, I went out yesterday and picked up a couple of Belkin USB Dual PS/2 adapters. The package comes with just the adapter and a nice "No drivers needed" message. When I hook it up to the laptop, I get an unrecognized USB device error and when I look at it further, it asks me to install the driver for this new hardware. That's what I like, nice and simple peripherals! |
