I took it in to NTB, as it it close enough to work to walk it in if I had to. Strings, some practical advice (Oct 14 2003 18:29 GMT) - Now that I've gone off a bit about the structure of strings, you're probably wondering what exactly good is it all? Knowing how things work doesn't necessarily translate to any sort of utility, at least not immediately. (I think it's essential for real understanding, but real understanding is in short supply on so many things...) But some good advice is in order. Like so many things I go on about, keep in mind that this is from the standpoint of a VM designer/implementor--I understand and do infrastructure. |

Microsoft sued over music downloads (Oct 14 2003 18:29 GMT) - A small New York company has sued Microsoft, charging that the software giant's new music download service in Europe infringes on a patent it owns nearly 20 years old. E-Data, a Long Island-based company that's focused largely on licensing its patents, contends that Microsoft, Internet service provider Tiscali and digital music company OD2 are collectively trespassing on its rights with their new music download services, recently released in several European countries.
