More on the Dow and that Magic 10k Figure (Oct 14 2003 23:23 GMT) - The point of the Dow 10k reference is that it would be a powerful symbol of economic recovery for the Dow Jones Industrial Average to return to five digits. The economy is very much an issue of perception. This is... |

Finding Nemo (Oct 14 2003 23:21 GMT) - Went to see Finding Nemo this evening. Very enjoyable. This was the first time I'd managed to see a Pixar movie in the cinema. I missed the others (Toy Story 1 & 2, Bugs Life and Monsters Inc) when they were showing and only saw them on DVD or video. In fact I haven't seen Monsters Inc yet. |

Re: My Pictures Problems (Oct 14 2003 23:20 GMT) - Just to follow up with this for people who may be having the same problem...it turned out to be in the way I was trying to use the My Pictures tool. I was dropping an image file into the monitored folder, deciding I didn't like the image once I saw it in my Radio Desktop, closing Internet Explorer, editing the image in Photoshop, and the re-dropping it into the monitored folder. If the filename already exists in the www/images folder, it won't re-upload to the server and won't re-open a new post in the Radio Desktop. So in the end, it was a user error (or at least an incorrect assumption on my part). |

That thing, with the people (Oct 14 2003 23:19 GMT) - Have you ever thought about characters from a thing (movie, show, book, whatever) and then mentally substituted another person of the same name as one of the characters from somewhere else? And then had a brain-breaky? Also good is when you substitute another role of the same actor's. Will, from Will & Grace, would probably have a rough time of it in PotC. |

First Post [Gary George] (Oct 14 2003 23:19 GMT) - So I have never blogged before, but I wanted to try. I think it might be really good way of tracking thoughts and sharing them with others. I guess the biggest downside for me is that I am not comfortable opening up to the world. Well I will see how I feel about this small posting and maybe there will be more to come. |

Lemon Fresh Pledge? (Oct 14 2003 23:19 GMT) - The Supreme Court will decide whether the inclusion of the phrase "under God" in the teacher-led Pledge of Allegiance in public schools offends the First Amendment. History buffs will note that the expressly religious motivation of the 1954 law that added the phrase—Eisenhower said, upon signing the law, that it was meant to affirm "the transcendence of religious faith in America's heritage and future" as well as "strengthen" the public's "spiritual weapons"—contravenes the first and most elementary prong of the traditional Lemon Test: Laws must have a secular motive. |
