Brand Necrophilia (Oct 15 2003 08:35 GMT) - Your search - "Brand Necrophilia" - did not match any documents. So I just wanted to get that out there. (In regards, of course, to AOL's "repurposing" of the name "Netscape" to refer to a bargain-basement AOL service.) The best part of this latest bit of corpse-fucking is going to be the browser: because there's no way that "AOL lite" is going to ship with Mozilla, right? |

d0m1's Theory of Ideal WinForms (Oct 15 2003 08:33 GMT) - Sometimes, when having written a really complicated algorithm to accomplish something, the resultant code can become 'precious' to the developer - they've sweated over it, they tore their hair out over it and they finally overcame all the obstacles to end up with functioning and bug-free code. But sometimes, there's a better way of doing the same thing, which much less code, in a totally different way. Often the alternative method won't be discovered for a long time after the original code is written. Of course, this discovery relegates the original code to the dustbin! |

(Oct 15 2003 08:32 GMT) - Major media outlets that did a miserable job of covering the public debate before the Iraq war started, do a profound disservice, not just to this campaign, but to this nation, when they warp the political debate about how best to end it. |

HIV/Aids: WOTCLEF Warns Against Deported Prostitutes (Oct 15 2003 08:30 GMT) - NIGERIANS have been warned of the dangers of the spread of the HIV/AIDS virus currently heightened by the continuous deportation of prostitutes that may be testing positive to the disease, from different parts of the world into the country. Founder of the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF), Hajia Titi Abubakar regretted that married people who are still promiscuous are more vulnerable in view of the fact that the law of the land does not restrict the movement of the deportees even when they are confirmed to have tested positive to the virus. Addressing the media in her office to highlight the activities slated for the commemoration of the fourth anniversary of WOTCLEF, Hajia Abubakar regretted that, "some people claim that they are protected with the use of the condoms, forgetting that even that does not have a complete protection against HIV/AIDS." |
