Former Aide: Powell's Speech to UN "Low Point" (Oct 15 2003 14:59 GMT) - Thielmann uses the term "faith-based intelligence" to describe the crap about Iraqi WMD bandied around by the Pentagon and White House. This was a term used by Warblogging on May 15 of this year to describe the unbelievable arrogance of the neocons. In that article I wrote about testimony Richard Perle gave to Congress in March of 2001, in which he said that American intelligence was broken "becasue we limit ourselves, as we think about this, to what we're able to prove and demonstrate." |

(Oct 15 2003 14:59 GMT) - "Research shows if you get an e-mail from someone you know, you actually open it." *I wonder how much funding went into sponsoring that particular bit of research?* From a Metro article about a new Toronto advertising campaign encouraging every Torontonian to send spam an email to five of their friends and invite them to come visit.Update: The website for this advertising campaign is here. |

IoD anyone? [Colin Brown] (Oct 15 2003 14:57 GMT) - Is anyone a member of the Institute of Directors? I`m giving serious consideration to becoming an associate member for business purposes. They have a base in Manchester city centre that`s convenient for me between meetings etc. The likes of BNI and BRE (wrong target group) with their early mornings, really aren`t my thing, I need the sleep, or else I am no use to anyone. A totally insane, expensive mistake? |
