David Raccuglia | mschmidt (Oct 16 2003 09:30 GMT) - To tie those last two posts together, here's a site that features *both* photography and the- almost- but- not- quite- Helvetica- Akzidenz- Grotesk. Neat, eh?David Raccuglia takes pictures of people you know - well, not personally, seeing that they're usually Hollywood celebrities. And it is good. |

This is my favourite movie ... (Oct 16 2003 09:28 GMT) - This is my favourite movie of the moment. In fact, it is generally my favourite movie. Once Upon a Time in The West is perhaps the closing chapter of the Western genre. It also probably a fairer description of what the frontier was like. The plan was to get "Last of the Mohicans," a film which I had to watch for work purposes (I know, life is tough. |

Sun pushes Java into telcos: ... (Oct 16 2003 09:28 GMT) - Sun pushes Java into telcos: "Sun is naturally cock-a-hoop about the success of Vodafone Live!, the most successful of the new style data services in which the carrier dominates the branding. Carriers want users to see themselves as the platform, not Nokia, Symbian or Microsoft. So by positioning Java as a platform which doesn't look like a platform, it discreetly exploits Sun's existing carrier relatonships. |

The Red Sox Really Won Last Night! (Oct 16 2003 09:27 GMT) - The Red Sox Really Won Last Night!I still can't get over it. Lots of fun -- spaghetti and meat balls, great salad with Italian dressing we ordered in from a local joint. Tonight will be even more insane ... problem is, I'll be in an anti-Red Sox pro-Yankees household for the game -- could be treacherous. |

Migration is still in progress (Oct 16 2003 09:26 GMT) - I updated my domain registration to point at the new company's nameservers, but it looks like my ISP is vying to be the slowest DNS update on the net. If you're getting this post, you're on the new version of the blog. I'm curious about who's getting which version. Would some of you leave a comment mentioning what city and ISP you're using? Thanks. |
