Listserv for homegrown OpenURL developers (Oct 16 2003 17:59 GMT) - Anna writes "If you are developing (or plan to develop) your own OpenURL link resolver, John Weible of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has created a listserv for you. A small but growing number of libraries have already or are now developing non commercial link resolving solutions with OpenURL at the core. The latest edict from this feral pack of blowhards and heartless assholes is to pray in order to save marriage from homosexuals and feminists. Many of these organisations believe that marriage - which they see as the bedrock of American society - has been placed in grave danger both by homosexual activists who are calling for same-sex unions, and feminists who in recent decades have placed great emphasis on women's independence and sexual liberation. |

I guess because of this blog, Microsoft has tossed a PDC ticket my way. And being the frugal person that I am, I'm taking them up on the offer. So in a week and a half I'm off to LA, ready to be immersed in Microsoft's . |

How To: Score Higher in Google Search Engine (Oct 16 2003 17:57 GMT) - by Eric Wolfram. Nice little article. My take-away quote: Remember, Google was designed by Stanford Graduate students. So your energies are better spent simply publishing useful information than attempting to fake out their band of super Googlebots. |
