First review of Samsung's YP-910GS MP3 player (Oct 17 2003 05:45 GMT) - First review we've seen of Samsung's new YP-910GS 20GB hard drive MP3 player, the one that's designed to be used with the new Napster 2.0 music download service, though obviously using Napster with it is optional. The YP-910GS has a few built-in features that the iPod lacks, like a line-in jack for making recordings, an FM transmitter for listening to the player on any nearby radio, and an FM tuner with an encoder that can make MP3s directly off of the radio. Apparently the battery life of the Samsung is better than than of the iPod by a couple of hours, but that the navigation software and interfacing with the Napster 2.0 service isn't quite as seamless as promised. |

A quick rant about women. (Oct 17 2003 05:45 GMT) - I wish women my age were more open to creating knitting/sewing circles or clubs. That'd be great. I miss women being women, not these quasi-men. Denying that they have wombs, joining the army, thinking for themselves. Hah, just kidding about the thinking part. |

Helpline Comment (24087) (Oct 17 2003 05:44 GMT) - Well, there goes the chance to have an interesting WS. First the Cubs, now us. No curses, ghosts, bad memories, or stunning plays by NY. Just one or two of the absolute dumbest, idiotic choices by a (our) manager I've ever seen. So we've got Dent, Buckner, and now Little. |

Fixing Iraqi health care comes at expense of US needs (Oct 17 2003 05:43 GMT) - "President Bush and first lady Laura Bush have a vision for health care in Iraq in which all mothers-to-be receive prenatal care, childhood mortality rates plummet and every person has access to virtually free treatment and medicine. ...
