Stuff. (Oct 17 2003 06:59 GMT) - Got the laundry done. Yay, me. Putting it away can wait. I'm planning on wearing the nice new slacks for the plane trip, and also for the concert. Sparkly shirt, whee! |

My attempt to say something nice for a change (Oct 17 2003 06:58 GMT) - So no — I didn't end up going to a sports bar. I was helping my team at work with a last-minute thing and could not tear myself away from sucking up minutes to actually make it to a sports bar. I sat there, where the sports columnists usually sit,... |

Geeze, is it any wonder my blood pressure's been wonky today? (Oct 17 2003 06:58 GMT) - Forgive me here, I know that this is going to be a shitload of bitching, and a ton of information that truthfully, you really didn't need to know, but I need to put this down in words, to think it through and get it off my chest before I explode. This bullshit's getting to me, and it's only going to get worse the closer the baby shower gets, the closer I get to my due date, and the longer my SMIL lives...... |

No real risk for money laundering in electronic payment systems ! (Oct 17 2003 06:56 GMT) - Today, Ton Schudelaro will defend his dissertation on electronic payment systems and money laundering (see this Dutch press-release). His work is voluminous and provides a good overview of the topic. His analysis is brief and clear: there is far too much of a hype about money laundering in new electronic payment systems. Reality is that current countermeasures are sufficient and illegal whitewashing is not a real threat. |

Laser Printer++ (Oct 17 2003 06:56 GMT) - Because I am apparently 'blowing up large' as they say, I decided to invest in my indie musician future by buying a laser printer. It's a Brother HL-1435 and so far I'm pretty happy with it. An old school musician may have blown that $300 on drugs and girls. The musician of the future spends it on office equipment. I really didn't have much use for a laser printer before I started making albums. |
